17th November 2009, 18:48 | No Comments | Filed in Office, Technology NewsThe 2nd Beta of the Office 2010 suite appeared on TechNet and MSDN last night.
Neowin.net is reporting that the public beta could be available this week after a tweet on the Office Twitter account, there is also a follow up post hints at possible social network integration in Outlook. This sounds interesting but I fail to see the point at present.
Those that have TechNet Plus and MSDN subscriptions feel free to download it now and have a play.

Latest on the PM weather experiment
28th October 2009, 19:31 | No Comments | Filed in News and politicsBit late but here is the latest anyway. Following the experiment on PM which has received a great response from the listeners and a few suggestions. The format is here to stay.
On Friday Denis Nowlan, Network Manager of Radio 4 has announced that the new format is going to be rolled out for all of Radio 4’s weather bulletins.
This came into effect on Monday starting with the Today Programme and personally I quite like the new style. It’s allot more clearer and easier to understand. The “weather map” for the new style is posted in the previous blog post.
New style PM Programme weather forecast
16th October 2009, 17:14 | No Comments | Filed in News and politicsI’ve been an avid listener to Radio 4’s PM Programme for some time and they do take listeners views seriously.
The new weather style started after listeners commented that they don’t remember what the weather forecast was or what the weather is going to be due to the sometimes vague and general way it’s presented on the programme.
In this experiment the PM weather forecast will be presented in a “Shipping Forecast” style with distinct signposting and will follow a set order (weather permitting).
Below is the PM Programme Weather map that the presenters will follow. More information here.
Hotmail passwords leaked online
5th October 2009, 18:25 | No Comments | Filed in Technology News, Windows LiveTom Warren of Neowin.net is reporting that thousands of passwords have been posted by an anonymous user of Pastebin.com on October 1st, a site commonly used to share source code. The accounts may have been collected by a phishing scam or had been hacked.
Though the details has since been removed the number of effected accounts totalled 10,027. The effected accounts started with the letters A and B but Neowin is advising users to change their passwords and security questions regardless.
Update: The phishing scam as it seems to be has now spread to Google’s GMail, AOL and Yahoo services. The number of effected accounts now totals around 20,000
